With 20 years of experience in risk management and over 2,000 interest rate derivatives transactions for more than 400 companies, we understand how to effectively and efficiently mitigate interest rate risk.

As a view-neutral advisory firm, we are independent and not associated with any bank or financial provider. We never act as a counterparty. Instead, we serve as agent in arranging our clients’ derivative transactions thereby ensuring unbiased advice. We will work with your existing financial providers to ensure appropriate pricing and structure of your derivative transactions.

FOUNDER’S BIO

Steve Matheson is the founder and managing principal of Steven Douglas LLC. Previously, he was Executive Director at JPMorgan’s Global Derivatives Products Group in Chicago, IL, where he managed derivative relationships with customers of the Commercial, Real Estate, Asset-Based Lending, Retail and Private Bank. Prior to JPMorgan, Steve was a Managing Director at Bank One in Columbus, OH, where he developed the bank’s Risk Management Department for all treasury, asset/liability management, investment portfolio and derivative activities. He managed counterparty credit exposures, ISDA Master Agreements, and all interactions with the Federal Reserve, FDIC, and OCC regarding Bank One’s $40 billion derivative portfolio. Steve was instrumental in developing the bank’s end-user derivative business with annual revenue exceeding $45 million. Prior to Bank One, he was Vice President and an Audit Director at Seattle First National Bank. Steve is a CPA (inactive) with undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Finance from Central Washington University. He and his family live in Coeur d’Alene, ID.
